ENVIRONMENTAL RISK ASSESSMENTS
Is it likely that your business will cause harm to the environment? Do you know how? And how often? An environmental risk assessment will describe potential hazards and their likely impacts, while also detailing the precautions that could be taken to reduce the risks. Some environmental risk assessments may be a condition of planning or permitting – and therefore critical to your project’s progression.
No matter the size of your project, KB Environmental can help you to achieve your goals while staying compliant within environmental and planning law. We can assist you in all areas of environmental management, including gaining permissions. All assessments are completed in line with regulation.
ENVIRONMENTAL Impact ASSESSMENTS
Conducted in line with planning regulations, we have assisted a range of companies with environmental impact assessments (EIAs), ensuring that impacts and risks are mitigated. Our EIA services incorporate feasibility and initial scoping, all the way through to writing environmental statements. These cover surveying, modelling, monitoring and evaluation of:
- Landscape
- Ecology
- Visual impact
- Land quality
- Water quality
- Ground conditions
- Contaminated land
- Flood risk
- Traffic
- Noise
- Air quality
- Heritage
SITE CONDITION REPORT
New permit applications, variations and transfer or surrender of permits could all require SCRS (Site Condition Reports), according to requirements under Environmental Permitting Regulations. This is for any facility regulated by the Environment Agency where there may be significant risk to land or groundwater, including where one is required for the Industrial Emission Directive.
Both desk study and intrusive study can be supplied in line with your planning stipulations.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
It is a stipulation of any new or varied permit that an Environmental Management System (EMS) be created for a site or permit. This system can be made as a standalone for your business or as part as a package of a new or varied permit.
Your EMS will need to be created to meet the criteria set by the Environmental Agency. This can be taken further, if you wish, to achieve the widely recognised British Standard ISO 14001, which certifies that environmental impact is being measured an improved.
ENVIRONMENTAL Project MANAGEMENT
It can be a daunting task managing a new environmental project. We are willing to take the stress away from you, taking your project and running it so you don’t have too.
WM3
WM3 is guidance for anyone overseeing the waste process, including production, management, transportation, storage and regulation of waste. The aim of WM3 is to assess potential hazards, ensuring a duty of care towards the safe handling of waste.
We can help with waste classification, soil assessments and sampling plans, all inline with WM3 technical guidance.
